At his wedding to Princess Mabel, Friso had given up a place in the line of succession. It is therefore unclear whether he will still be buried with all state honors.
In Lech am Arlberg, the prince is commemorated on Thursday during the annual mountain mass on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption of Mary. “We will pray for Prince Friso at the traditional mountain mass on the Alpe Bürstegg,” said Lech Mayor Ludwig Muxel on Tuesday. The fair in the high alpine area starts at 3 p.m. Vorarlberg Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP) today expressed his condolences to the Dutch royal family.
Friso was only relocated from London to Huis ten Bosch at the beginning of July. In London he had been treated in a special clinic since the skiing accident. His condition had not improved.

The royal family of the Netherlands said goodbye to Prince Friso on Tuesday in the closest circle in the Huis ten Bosch palace in The Hague. The 44 year old was
died on Monday after a year and a half in a coma
and has been laid out in the palace of his mother, Princess Beatrix.
King Willem-Alexander had broken off his vacation after the death of his younger brother and had returned with his family. The youngest son of Princess Beatrix (75), Prince Constantijn, and his family were also the
Widow, Princess Mabel (45),
and the two little daughters Luana (8) and Zaria (7). The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also returned early from vacation on Tuesday. Numerous Dutch people gave flowers at the palace and thousands expressed their condolences in registers of condolence on the Internet.
King Willem-Alexander’s brother had been in a coma since February 17, 2012 after he was buried by an avalanche while skiing off-piste in Lech in Vorarlberg. He had to be resuscitated for 50 minutes. Too long, the doctors found. The brain was too badly damaged by the lack of oxygen.
“It’s best for Friso,” says a young mother at the gate. “Now the family can finally grieve.” The sympathy expressed by thousands in writing in the condolence lists on the Internet goes especially to Friso’s mother and his widow.https://123helpme.me/ Beatrix and Mabel had done everything in the past year and a half to stand by their son and husband. “I have great admiration for her,” King Willem-Alexander (47) said on Dutch television shortly before the change of the throne on April 30th. “We are a very close family and such an accident is very, very sad for us.”
Princess Mabel, who celebrated her 45th birthday in the palace on Sunday, suffered a serious loss as a little girl at the age of nine when her father drowned. The blonde with the charming laugh later bore the name of her stepfather Wisse Smit.
Mabel, who studied economics and political science, is known for her commitment to various international organizations for peace and human rights. Since 2008 she has been director of The Elders in London, with which influential people such as the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Nelson Mandela are connected.
After her husband’s tragic avalanche accident, the Dutch saw Mabel only rarely and then in mourning. In the end, however, she appeared beaming again at the side of her mother-in-law Beatrix at the celebrations for the change of the throne.
Friso is to be buried in the family circle on Friday. The court announced this on Tuesday evening in The Hague. The non-public funeral will take place in the village of Lage Vuursche near Utrecht. There, near the future retirement home of his mother, Princess Beatrix, the prince will also be buried. “The royal family hopes that their privacy will be respected on this day,” the statement said.
In Lech am Arlberg, the deceased Dutch Prince Friso will be bid farewell on Thursday during the annual mountain mass on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption. “We will pray for Prince Friso at the traditional mountain mass on the Alpe Bürstegg,” said Lech Mayor Ludwig Muxel on Tuesday. The mass in the high alpine area, which is framed by a local wind ensemble, begins at 3 p.m.
Bürstegg is an old Walser settlement at 1,715 meters above sea level with a small church. The last inhabitants left the settlement at the beginning of the 20th century, today it is only used as an alpine pasture in summer. For years, a family pilgrimage to the church has been held on the afternoon of the Assumption Day.

The sea was stormy, the sky gray, the waves were high. The beach at Scheveningen near The Hague still offered the perfect backdrop for a birthday party on Saturday: The Kingdom of the Netherlands is 200 years old.
It could have looked like now in the North Sea resort on November 30, 1813, when Prince Willem Frederik set foot on Dutch soil again after 18 years in exile. Wrapped in thick winter coats, today’s royal couple Willem-Alexander and Maxima experienced the reconstruction of the landing together with thousands of onlookers. Hundreds of extras and actors provided a spectacle with historical costumes, horses, carriages and boats.
The birthday was celebrated all day long.
