A competition for mobile applications has started in Moscow, in which schoolchildren will participate, the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies reports.

The event will be held as part of the School of New Technologies project.

The guys will compete in creating mobile apps on one of the platforms: iOS, Android or Windows Phone. Schoolchildren will be able to take part in the competition, both as part of a team and individually. Applications will be accepted until November. 

The results will be announced next spring. 

The School of New Technologies is a joint project of the Department of Education and the Department of Information Technologies of the city of Moscow, created to support innovative transformations in the field of Moscow education. The project consists of a series of competitions, educational activities and events for the technological modernization of schools. The goal of the project is to make the school a modern center of innovation, a laboratory that allows students to fully realize their ideas and reveal their talents.

The selection of participants is carried out in the form of a competition consisting of several stages. The first competition for schools took place in 2013 – 20 educational institutions became winners. The second competition was held in April 2014. All contenders for victory passed a multi-stage selection. More than 16 thousand teachers took part in testing for knowledge of information technology. At the end of October 2014, the jury summed up the voting results. This time 200 Moscow schools were selected as the best of the best.

In the new academic year, Moscow schoolchildren and students of colleges and technical schools will be able to issue a social card through the portal of state services, the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies reports. 

Now the application can be submitted in electronic form, and not only with a personal visit to the center of public services “My Documents”.

“After the simplified registration on the Moscow portal of public services in the personal account, the student or his legal representative (in case the child is under 14 years old) fills out an application for a social card in three steps: the data of identity documents, information about the educational organization, and also attached photograph in electronic form, “- said in the message. 

The social card is produced in 30 days. You can get it at your educational institution. 

Once the application is submitted, the information will be checked against the student register to confirm that the child is learning. 

“Reconciliation with the registers is necessary in order to exclude the use of social cards, for example, for concessionary travel on public transport by people who do not have the right to do so,” the message says.

The seminar was attended by the heads and specialists of the educational authorities of the Crimean, North Caucasian and Southern Federal Districts. 

The plenary session was opened by Kirill Kazakov, Director of FSAU GNII ITT “Informika”. He announced the agenda with the rules of the seminar and emphasized that the work on the MRSDO program is close to completion.

The director of Informika summed up the preliminary results of the implementation of the IDMDO program in these regions and recalled that by the end of 2015, it is planned to introduce 3,386 places in Crimea, 52,270 places in the North Caucasus and 30,510 places in the Southern Federal District. 

Elena Lozhkina, Head of the Department of State Policy in the Field of General Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She spoke about the fact that the inspection bodies of the Russian Federation are currently paying special attention to the MRSDO program and the spending of subsidies from the federal budget allocated to the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Based on the results of inspections of the IDMDO program, a number of subjects were commented on non-fulfillment of their obligations.

The head of the working group of the IDSDO project Dmitry Repin acquainted the participants of the seminar with the main indicators of the implementation of the program, with the work of the automated system for monitoring the modernization of regional systems of preschool education and the conditions for conducting field expert works in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.  

In addition, the best practices implemented in the regions were announced, and reports were presented by the heads of the relevant ministries of the subjects of the Crimean, South and North Caucasian federal districts. 

The head of the Department of Federal Projects of the Institute, Alexander Skvortsov, made a presentation on the development and implementation in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation of an information resource that ensures the registration of children studying in educational institutions of all types and the modernization of regional solutions of the Electronic Queue within the framework of alignment with the Methodological Recommendations and Unified Functional -technical requirements.  

Summing up the results of the seminar, the director of Informika Kirill Kazakov noted that the electronic registration of children “brought the expected results, even some subjects exceeded forecasts and quickly eliminated the priority in kindergartens.”

Simultaneously with the seminar-meeting, field expert events were held: the expert group visited the facilities of preschool education in the Astrakhan region and checked the implementation of the IDMDO measures.

In Moscow, 81% of applications for the transfer of children to another school are submitted through the city portal of state services, the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technologies reports. 

According to the press service, the service was in great demand among Muscovites – since March 2015, 66 thousand applications have been submitted. 

“As a result of their consideration, 3,000 students changed their educational institution in the last academic year, and another 36,000“ newcomers ”will go to another school on September 1,” the message says. 

Most often, parents of fifth graders, eighth graders and tenth graders apply for transfer. This is due to the desire to enter specialized classes and lyceums after graduating from the primary or basic stage of school. 

“High school students strive to better prepare for entering universities, therefore they choose schools with in-depth study of subjects for their future specialization,” the message says.

Five cities-finalists of the competition for the title of the capital of Total Dictation-2019 have been determined, the press service of the Total Dictation project reports.

They are Kazan, Stavropol, Penza, Rostov-on-Don and Tallinn.

It is noted that Penza became the leader of the vote – 11,042 votes, followed by Rostov-on-Don – 7,031, Tallinn – 6,292, Stavropol – 5,902 and Kazan with 5,756 votes.
